Jurassic World Smashes All Box Office Records

Devouring Them All
The unexpected has happened. No one, neither the studio, neither the analysts, not even my aunt predicted this bull run by the Dinosaurs.

Starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas, helmed by Colin Trevorrow, and co-produced by Steven Spielberg, the master himself has smashed all records to sit at top of All Time Openings in North America and Worldwide. Dinos are back ruling the world and how!

$208.8 million in North America (beating Avengers, 2012) and $511 million worldwide (beating Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows: Part 2, 2011), including $100 million weekend gross from China, are mind numbing numbers.

A Jurassic movie with a humour brings in fresh air to the franchise which was plagued with far from good sequels. Gone are the days of "Why so serious!". Dinosaurs become a pet in a zoo this time round. The island is now an amusement park with all tricks and trips replete, which expectedly goes into an experiment gone bad.

This has propelled Universal Studios to all time high. Riding on Jurassic World, Universal has crossed $1 billion mark this year, the fastest of all time. First time a $500 million weekend worldwide. 3D helped the movie big time with 65% sales of 3D, which brings with it higher revenues, as is evident.

Coming days will see many more records smashed. Stay tuned!
